SL BRO APPS ("we", "our", or "us") operates the SL Driving Exam - සිං-தமி-EN mobile application (the "Application" or "App"). We are committed to protecting and respecting your personal privacy.

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Google Account Information (Optional Sign-In): When you sign in using Google Sign-In / Credential Manager, we receive your basic public profile information:
    • Display Name
    • Email Address
    • Profile Photo / Avatar URL
    • Unique Firebase Authentication UID
  • Guest Mode: If you choose "Continue as Guest", you may select an avatar and provide a local display name. No email or external account details are collected.
  • Exam & Quiz Data: Your answers, test scores, bookmarks, and completed practice papers, stored locally on your device.
  • Live Competition / Tournament Submissions: When you participate in an hourly tournament, your own score, total questions, time taken, and earned badges are calculated and stored locally on your device. Other competitors shown on the leaderboard are generated on-device to simulate tournament-style rankings and are not real people or real submissions from other users.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device & Hardware Information: Device model, operating system version (Android OS), unique device identifiers, language preferences, network carrier, and screen dimensions.
  • Usage Data: Basic app launch and navigation events processed only on your device to run the app; we do not operate a separate analytics or crash-reporting service.
  • IP Address & Approximate Location: Coarse, network-derived geographic location (country/city level) used for localized content and ad delivery.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following legitimate purposes:

  1. To Provide Core Features: Delivering driving license theory questions, highway code rules, traffic sign quizzes, interactive tests, and flashcards in Sinhala, Tamil, and English.
  2. Leaderboards & Competitions: Calculating your live tournament score, rank, and driver badges locally on your device, and generating simulated competitor entries to display a tournament-style leaderboard. Your general practice progress (non-tournament answers, bookmarks, and streaks) also remains stored locally on your device.
  3. Authentication & Account Sync: Securing your basic profile and allowing cross-device sign-in via Firebase Authentication.
  4. App Improvement: Diagnosing issues and enhancing exam content accuracy based on your direct feedback.
  5. Advertisements: Showing non-intrusive banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads through Google AdMob to keep educational content free.
  6. Notifications: Sending reminders for upcoming driving exam tournaments, daily quizzes, or practice streak updates (which can be disabled at any time in system settings).

4. Third-Party Services & SDK Integrations

Our application integrates with trusted third-party service providers that may process information subject to their respective privacy policies:

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: Your exam progress, bookmarks, settings, app preferences, tournament leaderboard rankings, points, and badges are stored locally on your device using a local SQLite/Room database and SharedPreferences, protected by Android's standard per-app sandboxed storage. This data is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
  • Cloud Storage: Only your basic authentication profile (Display Name, Email, Profile Photo/Avatar URL, Firebase Authentication UID) is associated with your Google Sign-In via Firebase Authentication. No competition scores, submissions, or leaderboard data are stored in the cloud.
  • Security Measures: We implement industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS in transit) to safeguard your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

6. Data Retention and Account Deletion

  • Retention Period: We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the services described in this policy, or until you request its deletion.
  • Instant In-App Account & Data Deletion: You have the right and ability to permanently delete your account and associated personal information instantly within the application.
    • How to Delete Your Account In-App: Navigate to the Profile / Settings screen in the App and select "Delete Account" (ගිණුම මකන්න). Upon confirming, your Firebase Authentication record is immediately and permanently removed from our active servers, and all locally stored data — including tournament history, leaderboard progress, points, badges, and app preferences — is permanently cleared from your device.
  • Email Request Alternative: You may also request account and data deletion by contacting us directly at: slbroapps@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request - SL Driving Exam - සිං-தமி-EN ". Manual email requests are processed and confirmed within 48 hours.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

Our Application is designed for general audiences and aspiring drivers studying for their driver's license examinations (generally ages 13 and above). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.

  • android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Allows opt-in competition reminders and study alerts (Android 13+).
  • android.permission.VIBRATE: Used for notification alert feedback.
  • android.permission.WAKE_LOCK & RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Used by system AlarmManager to deliver scheduled study reminders on time.
  • com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID: Required by Google AdMob to deliver relevant advertisements.

The Application does not request device location permissions and does not collect precise or coarse GPS location.
